Our digital classroom project
We are looking to create a new digital classroom.
This classroom will utilize laptops, tablets, e-readers, and other technologies that are crucial to a global 21st century education. Of course, to obtain these materials we need to reach out and find sponsors and funds.
With the aid of these technologies, we want to:
Create a digital library to spread reading materials to the children, teenagers, and adults of the community. In doing this, we would raise the local level of literacy, which will lead to more cultural awareness, productive use of free time, and increased access to knowledge, diverse sets of information, and modes of recreation.
Conduct digital classes for children aged 5 to 11 using free and paid applications. These courses will be focused on language learning, logic, math, memory, and attention skills. The digital classes will allow for an increased level of personal attention and individualized lesson plans. These classes will be highly efficient because they will supplement the standard curriculum and will help us pinpoint individual areas of improvement.
Provide language and computer coding classes to teenagers aged 12 to 17. The goal is to use advanced online courses, materials, and software to provide independent methods of language study. The teenagers will also take courses in computer literacy – ranging from the basic use of household and office technologies to writing software and understanding computational processes. This is part of a broader goal of introducing skills that will be relevant throughout their professional journeys.
Establish international cultural exchanges for teenagers aged 12 to 17. Through collaborating with schools and universities internationally and taking advantage of free communication resources online, we will incentivize language study, promote global knowledge of different cultures, and encourage the creation of cross-border interpersonal relationships.
Establish a physical point of online access for the Pamplona Alta community. The community often lacks access to resources, such as psychological services and job searching platforms. With a digital classroom, community members would be able to use our resources to search for aid from NGOs, state or private entities, and specialized professionals.
Teach important professional life skills to teenagers and young adults aged 15 to 19. At this age, it is crucial that our young adults are able to properly write a resume or CV, search for job openings and available scholarships, and prepare for job interviews. By creating a digital classroom, we will be able to work together with our young adults as they begin their professional journeys.
